“The textbook “Integration Course in English for Ukrainian Refugees. A1″ 2023, was conceived by me in Austria and made in Poland through the lens of my own refugee experience and the refugee experiences of friends and acquaintances from Ukraine. Real situations that happened to me or other Ukrainian refugees in EU countries are narrated in a playful format, similar to language learning textbooks. A critical perspective is offered on the treatment of Ukrainian refugees from both the European and Ukrainian communities and governments.”

Anatoly Belov

At various times, Anatoly Belov’s artistic practice was connected with graphics, street art, performance art, cinema, and electronic music. Personal experience is always present at the basis of the artist’s creative method – using all the variety of techniques and approaches, Belov invariably continues the conversation about the personal through his experience and the experience of his characters, exploring the freedom of views and actions. The main theme of Belov’s works is queerness, homosexuality, carnality. Having taken his first steps in the performative music project Penoplast, Anatoly continued his musical practice in Emblika Quail and the queer-pop project Lyudska Podoba (The electronic music queer pop project Lyudska Podoba (Human Likeness) founded in 2012 together with Heorhiy Babanskyi was the first queer pop musical band in the history of Ukraine).

Cybele is an interdisciplinary musical, electronic, psychedelic project of Anatoly, which he started in 2018 and with which he still works, dedicated to the cult of Cybele – the Phrygian goddess, the mother of all gods, whose queer history the artist reinterpreted by giving Cybele new powers as the protector of all LGBTQ+ people. All the music that Anatoly makes is ritualistic and dedicated to the goddess Cybele. https://soundcloud.com/c-y-b-e-l-e
