read moreThe Queer.War.Archive is a project dedicated to collecting and preserving testimonies of the Ukrainian LGBTQIA+ community during the full-scale invasion of the russian Federation into Ukraine and in connection with it. The theme of colonialism in Ukraine is primarily associated with russian influence. We consider Ukrainian LGBTQIA+ people to be intersectionally minoritized through russian colonial aggression, European racialization, and Ukrainian biopolitics (Seleznova, 2023). We are looking at such phenomena as ‘homonationalism‘, ‘homonormativity‘ and ‘homoacademicism‘ (the latter term is our invention). We are asking how we are affected by the notorious division into West and East, as well as the imperialistic discourses surrounding us.
